Consumer alert: Hazardous window blinds
The strangulation death of a child and the near strangulation of another has prompted the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to announce voluntary recalls of two types of window shades: IRIS and ALVINE Roman Blinds, sold exclusively at IKEA, and insulated black-out roller shades and insulated Roman shades manufactured by Green Mountain Vista of Williston, Vt.
